The series truly got me more interested in opera and each episode contains insights that are unique to see! The series just celebrated their 1 year anniversary and they replayed their first episode on Facebook that featured Raquel Saurez Groen. The Salon Series is an interview series that focuses on young opera performers and it allows them to gain exposure, share their story, and let a wide audience hear them perform. The Giulio Gari Foundation has been supporting opera performers for years, so it is awesome to see them produce The Salon Series. Having online environments that help facilitate the arts is also vital which is why I wanted to give a quick shout out to The Giulio Gari Foundation for starting The Salon Series. I think it is amazing that this opera house is still around to promote and celebrate the arts! The arts are super important for a community as a whole and having physical places to go to come together and enjoy or put on art is really valuable.

"I would write dialogue with one person in mind, then challenge myself to revisit it with someone else's voice to make sure that the choice of actor wasn't influenced by fitting a 'type,' at least not based on gender identity or race." She wrote the play intending for the casting to be as versatile as possible.
#CROSWELL OPERA HOUSE FULL#
The feeling of having a shared connection with strangers is so powerful, and brought to mind moments in person when you connect with a total stranger, whether it be a knowing glance or a full conversation, only to never see them again." We're proud to have the first fully staged production of "The Elevator," a new work by Michigan playwright Kryssy Becker, as part of our Weekend of One-Acts this Friday and Saturday!īecker says the play "began with a conversation in my family group chat about memes, specifically the odd sensation that came with reading a meme about something weird you do and realizing thousands of people experience the same thing.
